In this talk I will explain how I've used Apache Spark to become better at playing video games. I've downloaded the results of 500,000 heroes of the storm matches and 40Gb of world of warcraft auction house data and during this talk I'll explain why spark might be a preferable tool to tackle the technical problems that you encounter with these datasets (cpu/memory bounds). I'll explain how you can get started with apache spark locally and in the cloud using just a few commands from the command line and I'll give a small demo of what SparkR, PySpark and Scala-Spark look like. The goal of the talk is to supply the audience with interesting conclusions from fun datasets as well as the means to quickly get started with Spark themselves.
